My book, "Nature, The Best Teacher" was conceived with a primary focus:

To encourage the aspiring artist to return to the fundamental principles

and to use Nature as the Teacher.

This video is dedicated to and in memory of my beloved father, PETE RIBAUDO, who fell asleep in Christ peacefully awaiting the resurrection at the return of Jesus.  My dad played the GUITAR and I played the MANDOLIN (background music to this timelapse video).

A plein air landscape painting.  Beautiful clouds attracted me to do this painting. This is a wonderful view from the mountaintop above Crestview looking west. There are many trees below but sections of the mountains in the distance were peeping through the trees so I was able to include them in this painting.

At approx. 2 min. into the video, as the sun is lowering, you can see a shadow fall across the mountain from bottom to top and the entire scene darkens.

Timelapse Plein Air Painting demo.  It was very cold 25 degrees and I had to paint quickly.  The painting was completed in about 35 minutes w/some very minor "touch ups" back in thestudio.
 

A plein air painting demo.  I love to collect birdhouses and purchased this cute yellow and white birdhouse while vacationing at the shore - The Birdhouse now resides over the balloon flowers and pink rose bush in my garden.
